As a person who has been raised a Buddhist all of his life, I can say that asides from practicing this as a faith, I also practice this as a way of life. I can say it had definitely helped me out of some dilemmas in my life. With Buddhism, I was able to think more clearly and be more aware of what's going on. When applying Buddhism to everyday life, one should act calm and rationally in all given situations along with taking everything into moderation. When I mean everything, that also includes Buddhism.

It teaches you how to deal with all sorts of situations. There's something that will happen to cause more than one person to get angry at you for some unknown reason in which you will have to find it out for yourself. For example, some guy is going to get ticked that you were looking at his woman the wrong way or vice-versa. I've been to enough bars and clubs to see how street fights got started out of small situations such as that one. Buddhism teaches one to be rational when s/he is in such a situation. Unfortunately, that person gets back into the face of the accuser as a sort of pride. Pride is one of the seven vices and should be avoided.

The seven deadly vices are: greed, sloth, pride, gluttony, lust, wrath/hate, and envy. In Buddhism, practitioners are taught to walk the middle path and to avoid veering toward any of the extremes. Those seven deadly sins in Buddhism are considered to be extreme when taken out of moderation. In the situation as a confrontation, you can't let your pride get a hold of you. The person could've just logically talked things over and there would be no confrontation. That would've been the more intelligent way to deal with it.
