Melissa and Doug Deluxe Art Easel Review - Ages 3 Years and Up
The Melissa and Doug deluxe art easel holds some deception in its name, because the product is not just an art easel but a dry erase board and a chalk board! The dry erase board becomes the art easel when paper is pulled over it but really any side can become the art easel, and the chalk board is on the opposite side The product comes with, colorful large trays one on each side for paint cups, paintbrushes, chalk, and dry erase markers, an easy loading paper roll holder for painting projects and colorful clips to hold up the paper. The versatility of the easel makes for fun that never tires out. Paper, paint, paintbrushes, chalk, and dry erase markers are not sold with the easel.
The art easel also adjusts with height, so it can grow with your child from toddler, to preschooler to middle grade. Older kids will take joy in this easel as well. Although the easel says ages 2 and up toddlers can still take joy in it, they just might need a little stepping stool, to stand on to reach the board. The easel is made of wood, and it is very sturdy and durable. The colorful clips that are included make it so that two children can paint on each side simultaneously. The mass of the boards will give the little artist much room to create his/her masterpiece.
Assembly can at first look overwhelming with all the boards, wooden legs, screws, and nuts but the art easel is actually very assembler friendly. The directions are very concise and easy to follow. I had the easel up in about 20 minutes with no help. I absolutely adore this easel. It looks very professional and yet it is so kid friendly.
