Sometimes, I look around my apartment and I think, "Did I do that?" and the answer is always, "Yes?" However, despite the apartment being in shambles before my very eyes, it takes a little more than that to stir about any motivation in me to actually do something about it. It seems overwhelming. So, I put on my sweater or jacket or sunglasses and head right out of that front door every morning and I try not to think about it, although I am unconsciously or consciously for part of the day, every day. This is not a healthy pattern of avoiding my problems. It's not at all healthy to come home every night and try to "relax" in an area that is so un-relaxing.

I actually have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder. I've found that having a wildly scattered apartment is not at all beneficial to my mental state. Surrounding myself in an area that's just as confused as my poor brain, can actually escalate my anxiety. Sometimes I stil don't have the willpower to do anything about it, but I know I must! I know I can't go on living in the swamp of dirty laundry, cat fur, and the mile high dishes engulfing the kitchen.

Recently, I've discovered something very interesting all on my own. I like to turn on the television to one of those home improvement channels and watch closely for interiors of houses and apartments that are neat, clean, and un-cluttered. Sometimes I also pick up a magazine from the grocery store such as Real Simple, Organic Living, or Country Living etc. and browse through it looking for examples of living areas that I am really drawn towards, anything that inspires me.
