Meade LX200R Telescope Review

I just recently purchased a Meade LX200R Telescope to help satisfy my never ending need to go out at night and look at the stars and I am happy to report that I could not be more pleased with it. I spend every chance I get and many hours a week in the evenings gazing at the stars and it has definitely turned out to be the best telescope that I have owned yet.

Meade is the only brand of telescope that I have ever owned up to now. Mainly because of their reputation for quality and because my earlier Meade telescopes always performed great for me. It is certainly a brand of telescopes that I can whole-heartedly recommend.

I have found the Meade LX200R Telescope to be a heavy-duty one that stands up well to a lot of use. It is easily transportable so you can load it up and take it just about anywhere. You can use it in your own backyard or take it to your local star gazing parties.

Keep in mind that this is a research level telescope with a pumped up RA drive that allows for great control and viewing. This is definitely not one of the beginner or lower-end telescopes. This is a telescope you would want to consider when you are ready to step up a notch for more power and for more detailed images.

As I just mentioned the images produced by the Meade LX200R Telescope are outstanding. Crisp and clear and with a detail that I had not had the opportunity to experience before. The telescope itself is quite easy to use and it will not take long for anyone with a basic understanding of telescopes to become proficient with it. When I showed it off to the other members in my astronomy club they could not wait to get a chance with it and each one ended up raving about it.

I will admit that the Meade LX200R Telescope is a little pricey, especially for the novice. You are probably looking at around $6,000 to get one, but if you are really into astronomy and passionate about it I think it is well worth it.

I believe that this is the type of telescope that is going to be very hard to outgrow. With all the power the Meade LX200R Telescope has and the way it performs I cannot see myself needing another one or wanting another one for a very long time if I ever do.
