Officer of the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) is of the opinion that this program should be reauthorized by the President and the Congress as it concerns the children of the nation.

The U.S. Census Bureau has announced that eight million children in the U.S. are not insured , and even though they are eligible for the SCHIP program, they have not been enrolled, and this could pose as a serious problem.

John Sweeney, president, AFL-CIO American Academy of Family Physicians praises the SCHIP program because it at least gives children preventive care and Larry S. Fields, M.D. Board Chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics is of the same opinion and is in total support of the program. Many allergic diseases and asthma are common among growing children, and without SCHIP Reauthorization, children will not get the necessary care to remain healthy in school, says Daniel Ein, M.D. President of American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology American Federation of Teachers. He continues to say that children's lives and education have to be improved and problems like poverty, healthcare and nutrition have to be tackled by the people as a moral responsibility.
