I bought my first tube of Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer, which won Sephora's Best of Beauty Award in 2006, about a year ago in a color called Warm. It's basically a carmel brown color that matched the majority of my face especially my cheeks.

I am African-American and like so many people of color my skin tone is uneven (my jaws and chin happen to be about one or two shades darker than the rest of my face). When I applied the Stila moisturizer to my chin the Warm shade made it look ashy and fake so I bought another tube in a shade called Bronze. It's about one shade darker than the Warm and as it's name suggests it's a bronze tan color.

Sometimes I apply both shades of the tinted moisturizer to my face - the Warm on my cheeks and forehead, and the Bronze shade to my jawline. Other times I just apply the Bronze tone to my entire face so that my skin looks tan and even.

I do like how quickly the Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer absorbs and the way it leaves my skin feeling silky. But I do find that it doesn't give my skin the moisture that it needs because it is so light. I only need about 3 or 4 small drops to provide my skin with enough coverage, but if I use it on my bare face I need about 2 or 3x that amount for my skin to feel nourished.

The only problem is that if I use that much my skin winds up looking really fake, so I always have to apply my regular moisturizer to my face before I apply the tinted moisturizer, and I feel that I shouldn't have to take that extra step with the Stila Sheer Color, which costs $30 a tube.

I use the Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer when my skin looks naturally healthy and when it's free of any pimples. The moisturizer helps to enhance the healthy glow in my skin and makes it look even more radiant because it is so sheer and natural looking. It gives my skin that dewy look and it only gets better as the day wears on. After a few hours my skin looks like it's glowing and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it whenever I wear it.
