Are These Lip Glosses Worth Your Money?
I was in a CVS Pharmacy when I came across Maybelline's Lip Polish. I saw a pretty pink lemonade shade called Pink Cadillac and decided to buy it.When I used it at home I realized that the Pink Cadillac shade had a very pale pink base, but was mainly made of small flecks of shimmer. I could detect pink, silver, and even blue specks scattered throughout the gloss.
I found the Pink Cadillac Lip Polish to be somewhat thick and rich. It's a little bit sticky ,and whenever I wear this lip gloss with my hair down it inevitably winds up sticking to my gloss. Overall I like the texture though because it lasts for a few hours and it makes my lips feel moisturized especially in the winter.
I fell in love with the Pink Cadillac shade of the Maybelline Lip Polish because I could wear it with everything and didn't need a mirror with me to apply it since it's clear. Since I liked it so much I decided that I would buy another tube of the gloss in a different color.
There were so many pretty shades to choose from, but I wound up purchasing a shade of the lip polish called Nude Flash, because I thought it would flatter my skin tone. It looked like like sand (though it is opalescent) in the store.
When I got home I realized that the The Nude Flash color is more complicated than that it has a pearl finish and contains sandy, mauve, golden, and red tones of fine shimmer in it. It can resemble a pale mauve and brown shade in the tube, on tissue it looks like copper, and on my bottom lip (which is pink) it looks like a warm nude, and on my top lip (which is brown) it looks like a cool, almost white nude.
I think this color looks fine on my bottom lip but it doesn't flatter my top one at all. If I apply a normal amount it looks like I've smeared ranch salad dressing across it. I haven't worn it outside yet, but I probably would if I was going for a mod makeup effect, because this gloss reminds me of a shade that Twiggy would wear.
