Reading the daily news it is inevitable that you read something about President Bush not cooperating or making any effort to compromise with Democrats and his fellow Republicans who feel that setting a time limit for pulling out troops is necessary, and some might argue, long over due. Whether or not you agree with the war, most people now feel that it's time to get our people home and out of harm's way.

Is this war a personal vendetta? Is the young Bush making up for something his father didn't accomplish? What would that be? At this point it doesn't really matter anymore. Gas prices will be high until we leave Iraq and probably after. OPEC sees now that Americans are willing to pay whatever they "have to" to keep up normalcy. Statistics say that Americans are driving more than ever and using more gasoline than ever. Yet how many times during a regular week do you hear or participate in a "gas is too expensive" conversation? The war is costing the US $2 billion more than the budget calls for each month and the longer the US stays involved in this the longer we will see inflated prices for everything. The government has more control than most people think. If they aren't making up for the deficit by gouging gas prices, than maybe it's the rising price of milk or other goods services that have suddenly become "more valuable."
