Wide receiver D.J. Woods from Strongsville High School in Strongsville, Ohio, is a top prospect in the 2008 football recruiting class. He weighs 169 pounds, stands six-feet tall, and runs the forty in 4.35 seconds. His vertical is 33 inches, and he can shuttle in 3.94 seconds. His three-cone is 6.75 and broad jumps at 9-7. During his junior year, he brought 750 receiving yards to the Mustangs and his kickoff returns averaged 39 yards. He was given an honorable mention in the All-State lists, and made it to All-District this last season.He ranks number 68 on Rivals.com list of top receivers in the nation, and in the state of Ohio, is given the ranking of number 25 of 50 prospects. Scout.com ranks him the number 54 wide receiving recruit in the nation. In August 2006, The Cleveland Plain Dealer named him a player to watch and "one of the top wideouts, defensive backs and special-teams players in the seven-county area."
In May he attended the Nike football camp at Penn State and was cited as one of the highlights of the camp. In 2006, he also impressed scouts at the Elite Skills Camp in Cleveland.
He has had a number of offers from schools, including several from the Big Ten - Iowa, Michigan State, Indiana, and Penn State - and other schools like Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia. He is also interested in Ohio State and Michigan.
