The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) Ghost Hunters' Kristyn Gartland Speaks to AC

Paranormal Investigator, Case Manager and Instructor

Kristyn Gartland, Case Manager of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), the crew behind Sci-Fi's hit television show Ghost Hunters, says, "Everyone in TAPS has their own specialty. We all have different personalities, but it's great. It is a great place to be"

But that is not all Kristyn Gartland does.

Date of Interview: July 25

She is currently offering classes at the TAPS headquarters in Rhode Island for paranormal investigators called Paranormal 101. The course is designed to prepare investigators for an investigation. It covers everything from the initial contact with the potential client to the actual investigation and feedback for the client.

"I was fortunate enough to have learned under the best guys in the paranormal: Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes. I was given the opportunity to travel all over to investigate and be a part of a great Ghost Hunters TV show." says Gartland.

"It took a long time to fine tune my skills as an investigator and I decided I wanted to share my experience by helping other investigators. I taught classes in the past with Mike Dion in Boston. I wanted to branch off on my own a little." Gartland explains.

"I have had too many experiences in the past to list; however, the ordeal I went through and the experience I have gathered from TAPS make me a great person to teach this class. I am very outgoing and I like to keep it on the light side. Not too serious; not too silly."

When asked about what she wanted her students to gain from participating in Paranormal 101, Gartland says that she wants to provide the information to broaden her student's knowledge of the many different kinds of hauntings, what to do when faced with them, and the signs to look for when dealing with clients.

"There are many aspects of paranormal investigations and I hope people leave with a wide range of knowledge." Gartland replied.

Gartland first made contact with Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, the founders of TAPS and members of SciFi's hit show Ghost Hunters, nine years ago when she experienced an inhuman spirit in her own home.

I watch Ghost Hunter's all the time and can't wait for the new shows.I have had ghosts around me my whole life,it started when i was 17 years old and lived in california.I also had them when i lived in Illinois,Wisconsin,Minnesota and now in Oregon.I haven't had any bad thing's go on with them, they all had a since of humor.I even had one that walked from one end of the house to the other at the same time every night.I wish i knew about you then. You would have had fun checking them out.Keep up the good work.Thanks,Judy.

I was wondering if Jason and Grant have quit "Ghost Hunters". Their season was short this year and they are doing reruns. They also bought a bed and breakfast together. The show is good and wouldn't be the same without them.
