Student Guide: Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho
Spring yields young soccer players from the community to bask in the green glow of the lawn. April emerges with a new spread of artists and vendors for the annual Dogwood Festival. Music can be heard drifting in and out and you mosey through the booths. The gazebo invites many rest-seekers to relax on its wooden benches for a few moments of peace and tranquility.
And if you grow tired of being outside, the air-conditioned Library is just a few strides away. A rich collection of books, videos, newspapers, magazines, archives and reference materials have been compiled for not only the college students, but the local people as well. The friendly staff is readily willing to lend a hand in finding any of the materials you seek.
Reid Hall, Sam Glenn Complex, Spaulding Hall, Meriwether-Lewis Hall (better known as the Science building) and Fine Arts Building are several more structures that house various classrooms, labs and professor offices. Each college division has it's own home office based in one of these buildings.
For instance, the Office and Business Technology Division home office is located in the Sam Glenn Complex. The Education Division is based out of Spaulding Hall, while the Nursing Division is headquartered out of Meriwether-Lewis Hall. Each is unique in its' structure, featuring rich history and architecture, some of which dates back to when the college was originally called Lewis-Clark Normal School many decades ago when it was mainly a teacher training college. You can actually see the engraving of the afore-mentioned name on the outside of one of the building.
