A flower attunement is the first step in understanding and making your own flower essences and remedies. Even if you are not creating remedies it is a unique learning experience and will help you choose any future remedies you may want to use.

Flower essences are made using the vibrational healing energy in the booms of flowers and ultimately creating healing extracts with these remedies. The energy or spirits of plants is alive and well and will aide you on your journey. It is accepting divine world energy at it's best.

Each flower has many different uses for facilitating healing. What you will learn in experiences you gain doing flower attunements is that intuition is key. You can read and memorize all the books in the world but until you understand what exactly a flower attunement is you won't know exactly the level of intuition involved.

Each plant has an essence or spirit like quality. They are living and breathing organisms as well as great healing allies. Have you ever intuitively been pulled toward a certain flower or plant? This is the plant spirit's beckoning you. It may sound like new age garble but it has been proven by many flower essence practitioners around the world and science itself. Vibrational medicine works.

The first step in an attunement is to choose the plant you want to do an attunement with. You could pick something you are called to or whatever you have nearby. Find a quiet spot and sit with your plant. Ask permission before you begin. My native American teacher would offer up tobacco as an offering at this point. You can do the same if you are comfortable or use cornmeal. Sprinkle it all around the base of the plant. This is an offering in thanks to the plant deities.

Next, sit quietly for about 10-20 minutes and just study your plant. Memorize the lines and scent of it. Touch the leaves and feel the textures of the flowers and green foliage. Look at all of it's subtleties and open your mind and heart to what it is telling you.

I can assure anyone who is uncertain about their ability to commune with plants that you WILL get something from this practice. Every aspect of the plant can communicate something to you: it's smell, shape, color, manner of growing. Trust yourself. Whatever you need, and whatever is true about the plant, will come to you.
