It's really fun to join a friend or loved one in celebrating the impending birth of their child. It's a chance to gather with a group of women and reminisce about your own pregnancy, discuss future plans, and to give great baby shower gifts.

However, women grow tired of giving the same types of gifts at every baby shower: onesies, receiving blankets, or baby clothes. While these are great things that the Mom-to-be will need, they're just not very creative. Here are a few really creative baby shower gift ideas that the new Mom will love and appreciate.

Mom usually receives gifts for the baby. While this is great, an alternative would be to give the Mom-to-be a really nice gift for her. When the baby is born, things will be quite hectic around her house.

She will have little sleep, post pregnancy hormones, and virtually no time to herself. Try this great creative baby shower gift idea to address those issues.

A Night Out on the Town

Purchase a really pretty basket, a nice smelling set of bath oils and salts, and a scented candle. Try to find out the Mom-to-be's favorite restaurant and purchase a gift certificate for two. (Make sure that this is good until at least a month after Baby is born.)

Make a homemade gift certificate for one evening of babysitting service. Arrange these things in the basket and tie on a pretty bow and nametag.

With this really creative baby shower gift, you have accomplished a couple of great things. You have given Mom-to be a steamy scented bath with a peaceful lit candle, and a nice dinner alone with her husband while you baby-sit. Every new mother can appreciate these things.

Money Tree

Okay, not the babysitting type? Well here is another creative baby shower gift idea that Mom-to be will love. Most people give gifts that the child will only have for a few months, or even a year.

Make your gift creative and unique by ensuring that it will last a whole lot longer. Give the new baby a money tree.

Purchase a ceramic pot, it doesn't have to be very big, and some spray paint. You will need either blue or pink, and silver.

Purchase some yellow ribbon, and stop by the bank if you don't have a lot of 1-dollar bills.
