Michigan Renaissance Faire: August 18 - September 30, 2007

The 2007 Michigan Renaissance Festival is held in Holly, MI on weekends from August 18 to September 30. Inside the turreted gates, visitors step back into a festive marketplace with colorful characters, belly dancers, sword swallower's, comedians,
musicians, knights, gallant knights and friendly merchants. The Festival is best known for awe inspiring full contact armored jousting tournaments.

The Renaissance Festival is a step back to the time when ladies wore long, elegant dresses and the gallant knights wore metal armor. Bawdy wenches serve ale. Merchants barter and hawk their ware. Get into the spirit of the fun and transport yourself back into the time when chivalry ruled.

The outdoor weekend event recreates a fictional Medieval English village during the late 16th century. The fictional village is named Hollygrove as the grounds as in Holly Township and Groveland Township. Costumed characters wear medieval clothing.

Each weekend has its own theme:

August 18-19: Arabian Knights: Celebrates Arabian culture with food, song & dance.

August 25-26. Highland Fling: Traditional Scottish music and annual Highland Games.

September 1-2-3, Buccaneer Beer Fest: Adventure.

September 8-9, High Seas Adventure: Swab the deck and Perfect Pirate Contest.

September 15-16, Wonders of the World: Celebrates cultures from across the world. International dances and song featured.
