This event is known as the annual Center Moriches Spooky Walk. I had many people tell me that all the walk is simply a stroll through a woodsy area where people in the lamest costumes and makeup jump out at you and try to scare you. Sounded pathetic. For me to waste a night in October on an event, that event has to be huge, sweet, filled with spooky costumes, or illusions for me to want to go. Plus, $10.00 to have a bunch of people in lame get up jump out at me, sounded wasteful, and the thought of walking the spooky walk gave me gas.
However when I discovered last year that all of the proceeds went to Camp Pa Qua Tuck for handicap children, I figured that the $10.00 was going to a great cause, and that I would at least go and check it out, before I ragged on how awful it was. Besides, my initial negative thoughts about it was due to word of mouth. If my friends said it was lame, well most likely it had to be. However I went last year anyway, I figured why not, it could be fun if I just allowed myself to have fun, I knew if I went in with a negative attitude I would have a negative experience.
The Spooky Walk was held at Camp Pa Qua Tuck which is located in Center Moriches on 2 Chet Swezey Road. For directions to the Spooky Walk visit http://www.theatermania.com/content/show.cfm/section/located/show/115831.
