Most parents think fairy tales are harmless entertainment to tell their kids before bed time, but Revernd Zeke Gage, leader and founder of Christian Reading Always Carefully Keeps People Off Things (CRACKPOT) says they can lead young pepole down a slippery slope. After doing research on the True Christian publisher's website, chick.com, Reverend Gage called an emergency meeting of CRACKPOT.

The group, stationed in the Free Ridgeview Evangelical Church in Lewisburg, PA, did have a collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales in its church library, but upon learning of the dangers, the book was removed from its shelf and an exorcism performed on the library and its staff. The library has been resotcked and fumigated and the librarians exorcised are recovering nicely.

"They may tell us something about how people lived long ago, but those were in heathen lands like Germany. Good Christian children need only one book to tell them how to live now or how to live long ago and that is the Bible. It's the Holy Word of God Almighty and applies to equally to people every time and everywhere," Gage ranted. "You may not think your child might be a mass murderer now, but fairy tales cause one's soul to go down a slippery slope, just like the Harry Potter books. In fact, fairy tales can be considered a gateway book to other forms of other than Christian reading."

CRACPOT's commando teams had to work overtime to remove all additional non-approved reading materials from the shelves of school and local libraries. A shortage of funds made replacement books unavailable so IOUs were left in place of the missing books along with discount coupons to Christian book stores.

Or the violence, slavery, and sexism of the Bible.

This completely fails to mention the murderous, child-abusing, blood thirsty and sexist themes that are present in fairy-tales. Tar your brush a bit broader, Lara!
