The Children

Dear Lord
Come to thy children, hear their cries
Take away the pain that shows in their eyes
Give them hope and a feeling of peace inside
Father lift them up, may their faith begin to rise
Guide them so they may understand your words
Give them wings to soar with freedom, as do the birds
Teach them obedience, so they may learn
Without Jesus Christ in their lives, their souls will surely burn
Father, lay before them the path, showing them the righteous way
Hold them close, so they may not go astray
Save the children, walk them over sin
Instill your love deep within
Bring them to you, so they may not be harmed
Protect them in your loving arms
Let not fear capture their souls
Lord, shelter them, bringing them out of the cold
Show them the beauty of life, for they need to see
That you're the one and only God, with the power to let their souls run free
Embrace their souls, so the beauty of life thy may know
Let not their innocent blood flow
In Jesus Christ's name
Give them your love to forever remain
