At NowLive, anyone who owns a cell phone and preferably has unlimited long distance, can host their own user generated talk show for free. How it works is basically this simple. Go to www.nowlive.com and sign up for a free account. Once you have your personal page set up you can click on the "click here to start a broadcast" button. Once you have clicked that button, a window pops up asking you if you want to immediately go on air, or if you want to write up a description about your show, what the rating will be(E=Everyone, M=Moderate, S-Strong Content) and when you would like it to be on the air. If you choose to go immediately on the air, you are asked what your cell phone number is, and then given a list of local numbers to call into. Call into the number and when prompted, enter the show ID that you were given when you clicked on the quick start button. If you choose to schedule your show for a later date, just dial into the number at that time and follow the prompts.
Once you have called in and your show is started, a chat applet will appear where other NowLive members and guests can hear you speaking from your cell phone. They can chat with you, and each other, and can call into your show and talk with you live on the air. You can even designate a co-host if you want, having them call into the show and staying on air with you the entire time. Again, it is HIGHLY recommended that you have unlimited long distance. People can also upload pictures, music, and videos from you tube on the side of the chatroom screen. If a user wishes to call into your show, all they do is press the call in button and they are given their local number to call in. You are the moderator of your show and chatroom. You can either accept the caller by unmuting them or you can hang up on them. The same goes with the chatroom, if a user gets out of line you can kick them from the chat. Once your show is finished, your show will be archived and available as a podcast.
