If you're looking to live like the locals on a Thursday night in Buffalo, NY, you will be at Thursday at the Square. Thursday at the Square happens every Thursday night at Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo. It is a free concert series open to the public from May through September.

The event goes from 5PM to 9PM each with. With about 10,000 people in attendance make sure to get there early if you want to be able to see. However, most people just hang around the area with friends and enjoy the music by listening. Thursday at the Square is meant to bring attention to downtown businesses so support the beverage stands and local restaurants in order to keep the series free.

August 2, 2007, John Butler Trio with special guest Melissa Ferrick. John Butler Trio is a blend of blues, reggae, and classic country. They are quite famous in Australia with their second album going platinum. Melissa Ferrick is an alternative singer who writes her own songs. She released her first album, Massive Blur, in 1994 and her latest, Eyes of Strangers, in 2006.

August 9, 2007: Keller Williams with special guest Jonah Smith. Keller Williams should be interesting to watch perform as he has been called "guitars mad-scientist." He dances barefoot on stage while he plays solo guitar. His most recent album is titled "Dream." Jonah Smith is a pop-soul singer and pianist. His band has a rock-and-roll sound.

August 16, 2007: Soul Asylum with special guest The Alternate Routes and Floozie. Soul Asylum combines the sounds of punk rock and folk rock. The group has even won a Grammy. The Alternate Routes sound is a mix of rock and pop. They won an Independent Music Award in 2006 for their song Ordinary.
