CHEF'S Pressed Glass Cake Stand/Punch Bowl
You Can Either it as a Punchbowl or Cake Stand
This is one of my favorite pieces of glassware that I own, not only because it is versatile, and looks so elegant, but, also because my son got it for me about 14 years ago. And it still looks just like new. This Pressed Glass Cake Stand, has ribs going up and all around the base of the stand, which gives it that elegant look, of old world glass. I can use it as just a cake stand (with out using the cover), standing alone for birthday, anniversary, Christmas or any other holiday or event. I also love to use the cake stand to decorate cakes, all I do is take my little turn table I have and stand the cake stand on top of it, put my base that will hold my cake over the top of the cake stand, put the cake on, and I am ready to decorate, all I have to do is turn my turn table, and I can just continue to decorate with out stopping. This saves so much time and makes for a more even appearance in the cake decorating.
I also use it when I go to the Baker's Shop and bring home, Apricot and Poppyseed Kolache's, Plain Long Johns, and filled ones, Danish Sweet rolls, and my husband loves chocolate Eclairs. This is a once and a while treat.
When I bake pies, I can also store on the stand with the cover 2 - 8 or 9 inch pies on the stand with a pie rack over the bottom one and then put the other one on top. Looks just like a bakery sometimes. Then I also use it for bars, cakes, cookies, dinner rolls and so much more, and everything stays fresh, as the cake plate has a ridge that curves up, and when you put the cover on it makes it almost airtight.
