Top Zoos for Children and Families: Dare to Discover The Indianapolis Zoo

In May 2004, The Indianapolis Zoo didn't make the list of Child Magazine's Top 10 Zoos for Families, but it did make the extended list. With the addition of the newly revamped Oceans exhibit it may be climbing the charts soon.

The Indianapolis Zoo is located on Washington Street very close to downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Though it's open year around with activities for every month, the hours vary depending on what time of the year it is. The cost of admission is $13.50 for adults, $8.50 for children and seniors, and free for members and children one and under. In addition it's $5 to park in the adjacent parking lot, which with the recent crowd is sometimes full to the brim. Don't worry though, they offer parking nearby and a bus to shuttle everyone to the zoo entrance.
