Review of Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolve Strips
As a product tester for a couple of different agencies, I have the privilege of trying out a variety of new products before they hit the shelves on the market. The latest product that I have been trying is the Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips.
The Strips live up to the promises for the most part. They are easy to apply, no mess, no gel or bulky trays. Easy to follow instructions. Nothing to remove when the whitening process is finished. They do make a noticeable difference in the whiteness of the teeth. They are not noticeable
to other people and you can carry on a conversation while wearing them They taste great, and will leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean, that is, after you brush or rinse the residue out.
That is the one area that the Strips fail to live up to their promise, in the dissolving part. The Strips promise to dissolve in 5-10 minutes, with no need for brushing or rinsing afterwards. This has not been my experience with them. After a full 30 minutes of wearing them, the Strips do not completely dissolve. The residue feels like the proverbial piece of spinach stuck on the teeth. While no one can see the residue, you will feel it and feel the need to rinse or brush to get that fresh and clean feeling that you want in your mouth.
The concept of 'dissolving strips' is a great one. Whitening your teeth anywhere, any time, without a mess and without being noticed is great also. But the leftover residue limits this somewhat. The Strips are great to use while getting ready for work in the mornings. Place them on your teeth first, then proceed with your other bathing and grooming rituals and rinse the residue out prior to leaving home. You could place them on your teeth while heading out the door for your work commute, if you can access a restroom at some point to remove the residue, then you could arrive at work flashing a bright white smile. Make your boss wonder what you're up too!
