Davenport, Iowa Has Approved the Guardian Angels Patrol

2
Davenport, Iowa located on the "nose" of Iowa, has approved the actions of the Guardian Angels. The Guardian Angels arrived through rumors that traveled everywhere around the Quad Cities, which is cities that include parts of Illinois, that they were only here on a trial basis. Now, they have been approved.

Murders happen in an average of 60% more per year in Davenport compared to the national average crime rate. This large amount of crime in Davenport has left police trying to cover each street, division and subdivision. The police department is constantly trying to hire more police officers to cover every street, but they still can not be every where at once.

Crime is not new to Davenport, Iowa. It has always been labeled a rough and tough city dating back to the 1950's, where a few elders that I spoke with on the subject of crime remember that they carried bits of chain in their purse and were armed with box cutters in their pockets for self defense. Also, it was said that Davenport in that time was deemed as a River Rat city, many hobos came off of the trains and stole.

Iowa is assumed to be filled with nothing but corn fields and barns. This is not the case as even in Iowa sees crimes, murders and gang activity and worse as this is a common oversight. This is Iowa, what could happen?

Cameras at certain areas became a remedy, but many disputed the cameras as being used an invasion of their privacy. Many actually objected the use of the cameras to patrol the areas to alleviate the crime. The courts decision was that the cameras could remain, but never be used for substantial evidence for prosecution.

About three months ago, rumors have been scattering that the Guardian Angels had come to Davenport, but were soon halted. The discussion of whether this would fix the problem or just add to the crime rate was frequently discussed, but no Guardian Angel was actually seen. Would this just be a simple tattle group that would follow suspicious citizens around?
