Warrick Dunn has long been a great NFL player and teammate, but many people don't know about the great work he does outside the white lines. Dunn has been rewarded with his efforts off the field
with the NFL's 2005 Man of the Year award. He is more focused on his foundation and volunteer efforts than accolades however. The Warrick Dunn Foundation was established in 1997 after he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dunn grew up with a single mother, who devoted herself to supporting the family and being a police officer. He was the oldest child and was thrust into a role of great responsibility when his mother was killed in the line of duty for the police force. Even with her countless hours of work, Warrick's mother was never capable of living the American dream and owning her own home. Dunn made it a goal of his foundation to help single mothers who were working to support their families buy and own a home.

The program itself is called "Home for the Holidays" and provides single mothers and their children with the down payment for a house, enabling them to enjoy home ownership for the first time. The house is then stocked with everything you would need to take care of the house: kitchen supplies, lawn mower, appliances, etc. The program looks for single mothers who are employed and doing everything they can to raise their children without assistance, like his own mother. They will be able to pay the mortgage once they are in the house, but will not be able to afford a down payment without the foundation's help.

Hi, my name is Felicia Mccants and I have four kids, three girls and a boy. My son is currently in prison due to the poor choices in life he made. I've raised him the best way i could, i thought he would have known better do to the fact that their wasn't a male role model around. So he started hanging with a bad crowd, making fast money to try to provide for me and the girls. I've worked some side jobs but not on them for long.I've also use to clean other people homes to put food on the table.I've been evicited over ten times and I can't seem to keep my head above water. My girls and I are often in church and I'm keeping the faith to make a long story short, I started a janitorial service a year ago but was unable to keep up with the isurance for the business. I ended up loosing my house, car and selfesteem. I basically hit rock bottom. I trying to work on getting back on task. If you can help it will be greatly honored. Hi, my name is Courtney and I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl. To make a long story short , their father don't do anything for them and we've been living from shelter to shelter for quit a while. My mother allowed us to stay with her but its too crowded. I have 3 other siblings that stay there as well. Its a two bed room house and its extremely crowded. Me and my kids have to sleep on the sofa in the front, which sometimes be cold because the heaters don't work. so we have to bundle up with 5 or 6 blankets at a time. My 2 sisters sleep in bump beds, which my father took apart. So now they're side by side along with my brother who had surgery on his brain last year. This is very inconvenient for my brother and a hard working father because of the fact that they can't stand too much noise over there head because of my kids being that the house is too small for 8 people. I heard about this program off the streets(word of mouth) and I just wanted to know if you would have it in your hear
I was searching the lastest great news on Warrick Dunn and I came across these personal request. I'm sitting here shedding tears because I always hear and read about his beautiful blessings he share with others. However to actually read them with your own eyes are so touching. I feel it's a priviledge to read these request and honor. You have already started a change because you haven't quit nor given up. You believe in your family and yourselfs. Trust me when that happens other blessings fall right into place. May God continue to Bless you and your families. Your sister in Christ~CC
