Advantages and Pros to Working Full Time with Kids

When I was young I knew that all I wanted to be when I grew up was a stay at home mom. Yup, that was it! That was my career choice. I wanted to take care of my babies and let my husband make the money! :) Even when I was pregnant with baby number one I was so sure that I was going to be a stay at home mom. I knew for sure that no one else was going to raise my baby and I was going to stay home no matter what the sacrifices! Well, I had a lot of debt at the time, and staying home with my son was not an option. I cried daily over the fact that I had to go back to work full time. But I had to, and it was the best decision I could have made for both my son and myself. Who would have thought it? Not me!
If you are balancing between going back to work or staying home to raise your kids let me give you some thoughts to ponder on going back to work!
*Note: I know that going back to work is not the right decision for everyone, but it was the right decision for me* (this article is purely opinion)
PROS TO WORKING FULL TIME & HAVING KIDS IN DAYCARE
1. You will NEED a break every day!!
*Raising kids is TOUGH and don't let anyone tell you differently. You will need a break from them at least for 15 minutes every day. Yes, I know you love them dearly, but they can drive you just the teensy bit crazy. Going to work you get out of the house, and you get to see people your own age! It's great!
2. You get to go to the bathroom & eat without someone attached to your leg!!
*This one is priceless, absolutely priceless. You have no idea how great it is to eat lunch everyday alone! You begin to miss the "alone" time you had before you had kids. You will still eat at 100 mph because that's what you are use to doing around the kids, but eventually you will learn to savor food once at again, at lunch anyways. And going to the bathroom alone? Awesome!
3. You get a paycheck!!
*Yes, going to work earns you a paycheck! And isn't it nice to contribute to the family income? I know, you still have to pay daycare costs, but you'll make more than you'll pay in daycare, right?! Right! Staying home is nice, if the $$ is available to you, but if you need the income, go to work...it's not so bad.
