Gardening can be a very meditative project, but it can also be a huge hassle. Before you go out into your yard and start digging there are some things you should do first. It is important to have a good plan about where your want everything to grow in your garden. The amount of sun, water, and how a plant grows should be taken into consideration when planning your garden. It is helpful to draw a gardening map before starting your garden. This map will help you effectively decide where to place your plants. For instance you do not want to plant something that needs a fence where you have no fence, and you also do not want to plant a full sun plant in the shade. Now that you have your plants and your plan you are almost ready to go outside and get dirty, but before you grab your shovel there are a few tips you should take into consideration. This procedure may seem strange, but it keeps the oils off of your skin. This will help prevent you from developing some very troublesome rashes. Insects are another problem when gardening. Neem oil can be purchased at some garden stores and is helpful in keeping insects away from you, as well as, your plants. In order to protect your hands and nails from getting stained with dirt another good idea is to gently scrape your nails over a bar of soap.
