Brandon Lynch and his family had dinner, then hurriedly packed their things. They dashed out the door and raced to the AMC Loews Boston Commons Movie Theatre in downtown Boston. They walked in the door, only to find a mass of people trying to get into the new Harry Potter movie. There, they waited for quite some time before picking up their tickets from the ticket booth. After watching it, they exited the movie theatre, with nothing but smiles on their faces.
"I loved it." Bradon's father, Larry Lynch, said. "The special effects were awesome." Brandon and his family have anxiously awaited the release of the fifth movie for months. They have already reserved one of their very own copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and they just visited Loews Theatre Wednesday to see the movie.
But the Lynch family weren't the only ones who wanted to see the latest in the Harry Potter series. All around the globe, people are frantically trying to get tickets to see the fifth installment in J.K. Rowling's popular series, which premiered in theatres late Tuesday night. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has spurred much excitement and anticipation among Harry Potter fans and every day movie goers.
Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, the Harry Potter movies are based on the just as (if not more) popular book series authored by J.K. Rowling. Harry is an unlucky child victim to a cruel Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. His parents have been killed by an evil Lord Voldemort, and now that he is attending Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, he may be able to fight back.
"It's already a really big hit." said Kenneth Ritter, a worker at Loews Theatre in Boston . Mr. Ritter was working at the theatre the night of the premier. "It was unusually crowded. People were getting really dressed up." People started to line up early Tuesday morning to be among the first ever to watch the blockbuster film. "By midnight, tickets were sold out and the lines went back to the walls."
