The Top Five Things You Should Never Do If You Think Your Boyfriend is Cheating

At some point in life almost every woman has one. I'm talking about a boyfriend who starts acting weird. Now weird can take on a lot of different forms. Maybe he stays out late or disappears overnight without explanation. Maybe he isn't where he told you he would be. Maybe he's more withdrawn or argumentative than usual. But whatever the change, in this situation it's only human to consider the possibility that your boyfriend might be cheating on you. And once that thought hits your imagination, the emotional roller coaster can spiral out of control pretty fast. Believe me, I know.

Now please understand, I'm not saying there aren't men who cheat. Of course there are. But at the same time, it's important to remember that boyfriend weirdness can also be the result of many other things that don't involve sex with a woman who isn't you. So when you think your guy might be sleeping around, always keep your eye on the word "think." Because if it turns out you're wrong--and you very well might be--then the knee-jerk reactions you have while riding that interim emotional roller coaster could cause huge regrets after the fact. And with that in mind, here's my list of the top five things you should never do if you think your boyfriend is cheating...

1) Hair

This is the oldest one in the book. You think your boyfriend is seeing another woman on the side, so you immediately head to the beauty salon and turn those waist-length raven black locks into an Annie Lennox bleached-blonde buzz cut. That will show him, right? Wrong. That will only show you...when you look in the mirror the next morning and burst into tears. Bottom line: never, ever make drastic hair changes based on a suspicion of unfaithfulness. Hair grows at a very slow half inch per month, ladies. So do the math instead of doing the beauty salon freak-out. Because if you're wrong about the cheating thing, both you and your boyfriend will be waiting an awfully long time to see those waist-length raven black locks again.
