The promising talent that everybody has been talking about in the Milwaukee Brewers organization for years now has finally started come together. Behind Prince Fielder, J. J. Hardy and others the Milwaukee Brewers took a big lead in the National League Central. The Chicago Cubs came storming back and though it seems unlikely, the St. Louis Cardinals aren't out of the race yet just six games back.

When it comes to the home and away split, the Chicago Cubs seem to have the advantage in the schedule. The Chicago Cubs seem to be in the best shape simply because they are the only team of the three that has a winning record at home and on the road and they have about the same amount of games remaining at home and on the road.

The St. Louis Cardinals aren't in bad shape either. The Cardinals have been better at home than on this road this season and they have more home games remaining. The team whose schedule is not very favorable is the first place Milwaukee Brewers. They have 28 games remaining at home and 28 on the road but they would much rather have more home games. The Milwaukee Brewers have an atrocious 21 - 32 record on the road, the worst road record among all playoff contenders.

The Milwaukee Brewers have a very, very slim advantage in the toughness of remaining teams on their schedule. The Brewers have 29 games against contending teams. The Chicago Cubs have 30 games against teams contending for a playoff spot and the St. Louis Cardinals have 33 more games against playoff contenders.
