The Woe's of Towing
Laugh or Cry but Your Journey is Now on Foot!

The surprised look on someone's face when their vehicle is missing from its parking space sends not only panic but fear into the owner's heart. The first fear is that you have now lost everything that was in your vehicle that contains your identity from the insurance papers to possible mail and credit card receipts with your personal information. It's only when you are informed by a surprisingly nice Good Samaritan that you find out that your car has been towed. Now begins a nightmare at twelve o'clock in the morning that you, an out-of-towner, are now without wheels in a city that you know nothing about. Did I forget to mention that you you'have been up for over thirty plus hours driving through the rain? After all, you only wanted to get a bite to eat and since the only non-diner restaurant's parking lot is full you parked at a closed drug store across the street. The scenario is always different but the outcome is always the same: YOUR CAR HAS BEEN TOWED!
Now that your fear is laid to rest that your car is not seeing the sites of town with an unknown driver racing it through the streets you breathe a bit easier. Then again, as you look around, you don't see any towing enforced signs that are visible in the dark. It is only as you walk the perimeter of the parking lot again that you see one sign posted at each entrance the same height as a fire hydrant but angled to traffic from the opposite direction that you entered. Now you can stand there kicking yourself for not seeing the sign and wishing the business owner had posted signs on the building or you can sit down and cry a river that you should have parked at the event parking that was charging five dollars one business over. At least now you can call someone for directions on how to get your car back.
