Taste of Thai in Buffalo, NY: Review
A Great Little Restaurant
I was a bit hesitant to go because I am not a real big fan of Chinese food so I wasn't sure how much Thai food would differ. I am well aware that they are two different countries, but they are close enough to each other on the same continent.
When my husband and I entered I was immediately taken back because the atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous. It is mostly decorated in rich colors, a lot of deep maroons and reds along with black décor. The color scheme sets up a very intimate setting. On looks alone you just know that this is a great place for a romantic dinner. So immediately it had a thumbs' up on sheer looks alone.
There wasn't really a wait because we came at the very beginning of dinner hour which starts at 5 PM. Their hours are Monday through Sunday 11 AM to 3 PM (Lunch) then they close for 2 hours and reopen from 5 PM to 10 PM for dinner. We were seated by the hostess right away and in less then 2 minutes are server was at our table to take our drink order. I ordered a Thai Tea which I have never had before, but I love Chai tea so I thought it might come close based on the description. She brought over my large glass of Thai tea and I was quick to give it a try. Obviously my face must have lit up with delight because the server seemed rather pleased by my reaction. It is a lot like chai tea in the sense that it has an exotic blend of spices. I tried to decipher all the different tastes but I couldn't. I even asked my server is she would give me a hint as to what was in this exotic drink. She just smiled and said it was an ancient secret.
