Chicago Park District Announces Registration for After School Programs

According to a recent Chicago Park District press release, the Chicago Park District is kicking off registration for kids fall activities at 9:00 a.m on Monday August 13th, only at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com.
As many Chicago residents know, the Chicago Park District offers some of the best after school activities for the kids. They also know that it can be a huge rush and lots of waiting to sign up kids for

"Sometimes programs fill up within a day or so," said Chicago mother Pat Coules. "So, if you're not on the ball when registration comes around, its almost impossible for your kids to get into a certain program. That's how high in demand some of the stuff is."
Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Timothy J. Mitchell said, "Our online registration system accommodates the busy schedules of our patrons...this fall, we are partnering with an industry leader in handling online payments."
This is the first time that the Chicago Park District will be using the PayPal online payment system for paying registration fees for fall activities. The new and improved system will offer email confirmation and order details so parents know they fully registered their kids for a certain program. It will also show when programs are full. Another great thing about the Park District accepting PayPal is that orders will process immediately instead of having to wait weeks for snail mail confirmation.
"I think the PayPal thing is great," says Chicago dad Andre Felix. "You'll be able to know if you got into a program that second. Before we always registered in person, so this is a nice change."
However, the Chicago Park District realizes that a lot of families do not have access to a PayPal account or even a computer, so in-person registration is available at all local parks starting on Saturday August 18th.
Online registration ends on September 23rd. People may still register when a program starts as long as there are still spots available in that specific activity. All of the fall programs run from Monday September 24th to Sunday December 9th.
