I distinctly remember the college search process as a long and daunting search. First, there was the trying to find colleges, then trying to find colleges with the academic programs I was interested (and laughing after a semester as this hard work evaporated as I changed my major). Choosing a college or university is not a task to be taken lightly; A wrong decision often means the costly transfer process. Unfortunately, as I finished reading the acceptance letter and the nearly ten syllables that make up Case Western Reserve University, it dawned on me that I still knew very little about where I would be spending my next four years.

As I prepare to begin my Junior year, I'm happy to report that despite this, I made the right decision. Though I changed my major (as most college-bound students will do), I found that Cleveland provides a unique experience to the undergraduate. Just as college is for most students, life at CWRU is a love-hate relationship. This guide aims to provide those attending, or thinking of attending CWRU with a look at all aspects of student life.

Academics

Academics at CWRU are pretty standard when it comes to the undergraduate institutions. Almost all classes are taught by lecturers and professors, this generally is more true for the non-engineering classes. Classes range from several person (3-10) liberal arts classes to the largest lectures on campus being 300-400 people. Larger classes are the norm for underclassman engineering, but after a few semesters the smaller classes here begin to mirror those in the School of Arts and Sciences.
