God of War II Walkthrough Part 12: The Cavern of Deadly Gorgons

After making your way up another cliff and deciding not to cross the bridge just yet, you should be about to enter another cave for the start of this God of War II walkthrough. As soon as you walk in, you'll probably notice that there are two chests and they both need to be opened for your handsome reward. Now, make your way through the cavern and at the end you'll see a grip holder. By pressing the R1 Button, you'll perform a high jump to the other side where you'll see a chest that's inside a cage.

Getting inside the cage to open the chest can be a tricky challenge in God of War II, so I'm going to show you how to do it with ease. Begin walking towards the right side and you'll see a zip line which will take you back to the area where you came in. Hop up onto the zip line and continue pressing the R1 Button all the way down and you'll jump off landing inside the cage. Now, that you're inside that pesky cage, you can open up the chest to receive your well deserved Phoenix Feather.

Back to the normal game play, you'll need to continue on down the cavern in this God of War II walkthrough. When you come upon an area that's the shape of a circle, it will be time for a fight between you and a gorgon. The best way to go about killing this monster is using evasive rolls with light attacks. The rolls are used to evade being frozen by the gorgon and when the Circle appears above the monster's head, hold it to grab the gorgon and move your analog stick in the direction shown where you'll need to hold it there. After that, you'll be given a new direction in which you'll have to rotate the stick 360 degrees, and doing it right will behead the beast.

Just when you think the battle is over, two more gorgons will appear with a few harpies as well. Take out the harpies quickly and use the same strategy you just used to defeat both of the new gorgons. After all the fighting is finally over and you have a moment to relax, you're going to need to destroy the pillar that's blocking your path and descend the wall.
