Personal

Julia Stiles was born in New York City on March 28, 1981. Her father is a teacher and businessman an Irish decent. Her mother works as a potter at his pottery business and she is of an Italian and English decent.

Julia is a feminist. She refuses to be in Playboy. She hates being photographed.

Julia has dated such actors as Joseph Gordon-Levitt (TV's 3rd Rock from the Sun) in 1999 and Joshua Jackson (TV's Dawson's Creek) in 2000.

Julia Stiles was once a headstrong, unflinching vegetarian. She recently gave it up for health reasons.

Julia Stiles is a Democrat who supported John Kerry's Presidential candidacy in the 2004 election.

Career

Julia Stiles landed her first acting jobs on television. She made appearances on the medical drama, Chicago Hope and on the PBS series, Ghostwriter as a computer punk named, Erica Dansby in 1993 and 1994. Then Julia went on to star in two made-for-TV movies, Before Women Had Wings in 1997 on CBS, Connie May Fowler opposite Ellen Burstyn and Oprah Winfrey, and a troubled, pregnant teenage girl in the miniseries The '60's in 1999.

I remember seeing Julia Stiles for the first time in the 1999 movie, 10 Things I Hate About You, but the young aspiring actress had already made an appearance in the Claire Danes / Jude Law film, I Love You, I Love You Not in 1996. Although, it was her role as the strong-willed Kat Stratford, opposite Heath Ledger in 10 Things that really launched Julia Stiles's career.

Julia has made several hilarious appearances and cameos on programs like Saturday Night Live.

Julia recently made her writing and directoral debut with Elle magazine's Raving. The film stars Zooey Deschanel. It will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Final thought

I've been impressed by Julia Stiles since I first saw her on screen. She's not only beautiful, but Julia has the potential of becoming a very highly respected actress. One person has already been reported as saying that Julia can be the "next Meryl Streep." If you don't believe me, check it out for yourselves by watching her in any number of the movies listed below.
