 capturing high definition videos to its built-in hard disk drive.

The Canon HG10 AVCHD1 features Canon's proprietary 10x video lens, HD CMOS image sensor, DIGIC DV II Image Processor, SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization and instant AF.

According to Canon, the HG10's 10x HD Video lens has an Optical Image Stabilization that can fix sudden vibrations due to hand shake when filming or when the camera is in motion. Canon's Full HD CMOS Sensor can capture images at 1920 x 1080 resolution and the Instant AF can improve autofocus speed and accuracy. The Canon HG10 AVCHD1 has a 24p Cinema Mode that can let consumers achieve the look and feel of motion picture films.

Canon's HG10 HD Camcorder can also capture 3.1 megapixel photos to a miniSD card and has a Photo Grab function so users can grab 2.0 megapixel (1920×1080) image stills during playback from their HD video footage. The HG10 HD Camcorder also has a Quick Start function that turns on the camera from standby mode instantly allowing users to record videos immediately. Canon's HG10 camcorder has a 2.7 inch Widescreen Multi-Angle LCD which features a navigation control right on the LCD panel so users can easily access menus.

The HG10 HD Camcorder comes with an HDMI cable for easy connection with High Defintion TVs and will also come bundled with a powerful image editing software from Corel. The Corel software can edit AVCHD videos so users can cut, reorder, combine scenes, or add music and transitions. The HG10's hard disk drive can record up to 15 hours of High Definition videos and comes with a Backup Utility Disc so users can backup their recorded videos to the camcorder's hard disk drive.
