I have returned once again to teach all of you on the subject of spells in the Harry Potter series. Just think of me as Severus Snape, except not as cool, Filius Flitwick, except not as short, or Dolores Umbridge, except not as creepy.

Engorgio
The Engorgio spell causes objects to increase in size and has been used several times in the series of Harry Potter books. A couple of times the Engorgio spell has been used in Harry Potter to enlarge a spider and another time Ron thought maybe the spell was used on Hagrid since he is so large.

Episkey
Episkey is certainly one of the most useful spells in the Harry Potter books. Episkey allows someone to heal themself or another person that has minor injuries. The Episkey spell is first used in the Harry Potter series during the Triwizard Tournament in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Erecto
The Erecto spell is obviously used to make something erect. The Erecto spell is used only once in the Harry Potter books when Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron have to find shelter during Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Evanesco
The Evanesco spell is one of the most deadly spells in the Harry Potter series. It causes you to hear Evanescence in your head 24 hours a day. I'm just kidding, that would be too cruel for children to read about. The Evanesco spell is used to make items vanish.

Expecto Patronum
Expecto Patronum is probably one of the spells you're most familiar with as it was a very prominent part of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Lupin uses the Expecto Patronum spell to chase away a Dementor on the train and then later teaches the spell to Harry Potter so he can use it against the Dementors himself.

Expelliarmus
The Expelliarmus spell is another spell that you are probably very familiar with. The Explliarmus spell is used to disarm another wizard, usually the spell is used to disarm their wand. The spell is first used in the Harry Potter books by Professor Snape but is used a lot throughout the series. Harry Potter teaches it to the other students, Draco Malfoy uses it to disarm Dumbledore and Harry Potter uses it against Voldemort.

Alicia - they don't use real spells - the spells were thought up from latin words by JK Rowling, letting them watch the movies isn't a bad thing. It's not as if it'll corrupt them any further because they know about a mde up character who can use magic. I'm sure they know about witches and ghouls, etc. from children books or friends, though they know they're not real and don't plan to be one, obviously.

You won't like this, but I don't know how any Christian can actively write about spells and witchcraft. I will never let my kids watch Harry Potter for the shear fact that they use real spells, etc.
