New Emergency Life Saving Tool by Swiss+Tech Fits on Keychain

When faced with a life threatening emergency there is often little time to search for life saving tools, even those stored in the glove box may be out of your reach or forgotten. Approximately 600 people die each year trapped in submerged vehicles. Survival

depends on getting a window open and freeing oneself from the seatbelt. Both these tasks are difficult to accomplish if you lack the proper tools, or panic and waste time searching the vehicle for a tool. A new key-chain rescue tool ensures that drivers know exactly where these life-saving devices are when they need them.

Swiss+Tech's BodyGard 7-1 Platinum Series Emergency Tool is designed to break the side or rear windows of your car, with its spring-loaded glass breaker that automatically deploys when pressed against the window shattering the glass and allowing you to escape to safety in an emergency. The safety blade seat belt cutter quickly cuts through jammed seat belts of driver and passengers and freeing them from life threatening situations. The emergency tool also features a sonic alarm, a LED light and emergency flasher, a digital tire gauge and a thermometer.

The device is so small it fits on a key chain where it will always be within your reach. The BodyGard 7-1 measures a mere 3" X 1 ¾" X ¾ "and weighs only 1.5 ounces.

"With all the security, peace of mind and life-saving potential it offers, the BodyGard is an ideal gift for every driver," says Bennett Rubin, executive vice president of Swiss+Tech Products. "Unlike other glass-breaker products, the BodyGard is easy to find in an emergency and doesn't require installation of a mounting plate in your car's interior."

The BodyGard not only serves as a life saving tool in cases of being trapped inside a vehicle, it can also be used to summon assistance with its piercing sonic alarm and flashing red distress signal. Its LED flashlight provides night sight and safety. A digital tire gauge has an easy to read LCD display, and the thermometer reads temperatures from 0 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is a great concept, but there is the possibility that being in a stuck seat belt will prevent you from getting the device out of your pocket if that's where it is. Special note to the ladies: the more you have on your keychain, the more of a chance you have of getting stuck somewhere. The reason: the excess weight of ten keys, your mini flashlight, remote car lock device, etc., adds extra weight that pulls down on the ignition switch, increasing the chance of damaging it and leaving it unable to start the car.
