"Hot Rod" Isn't, but Sure is Funny

Rod is a self professed stuntman who has a step-father who he is trying to win his respect from. He and his step-father would fight and he would always lose. He has a step-brother who is on his crew with two of his other friends and they help him do stunts. Hot Rod.

Sounds dumb? Well it is. It's dumb male humor. If that is not your thing then this movie is so not for you. I think it's a little bit like Napoleon Dynamite but just a little bit cruder in its humor.

I went to see this movie not expecting too much because of the trailers and who was in it. Not to say that I do not think anyone in the movie was funny just you can't really expect a whole lot based on the premise of the movie itself. Well I laughed a lot.

There were just random moments in the movie that were just funny. I love the dork aspect of the entire thing. The entire movie was dorky and silly and stupid and I was very entertained because that's how the trailer showed it and that's what it delivered.

One of my favorite scenes has to do with the phrase "Cool beans" it lasted a good while. I loved the forest moment with Rod having a mimic an old movie that had Kevin Bacon in it. I have not seen that movie in a long while so that was pretty funny. I hear that kid from High School Musical, Zac Efron, is going to do the remake. Anyway there are other scenes that are funny such as the "party scene" where Rod tells his friends they can't be the ones that party because he does. It's just dumb and yet so funny at the same time.

I like the humor in Hot Rod and I think I'll be buying this movie because you can't have too many movies that make you laugh. Laughter does help you live longer and I plan on living a long time and I'm not afraid to admit that I laugh at stupid male humor. Not...at...all.
