According to a recently published press release and a report released in this month's Forbes magazine, the Philadelphia Eagles brand is number one in the NFL when it comes to brand value and revenue intake.

Forbes' research included looking at all 122 sports team in the NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA whose sponsorships, naming rights, local media, tickets and merchandise were considered in the calculations.

Forbes was able to find out that the Philadelphia Eagles has a brand value of $90 million and it was up a total of 113 percent.

Philadelphia Eagles own and CEO Jeffrey Lurie and Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb were acknowledged with helping the team gain positive media attention, especially in Philadelphia. This attention only caused the merchandise sales to rise.

"It's a great credit to our organization," said Eagles President and COO Joe Banner. "There's a lot of hard work involved. It's a true indication of the passion the City of Philadelphia has, and the great fan support this team receives."

Investors of the Eagles have also seen the positives of the Eagles brand doing so well. The Philadelphia Eagles organization is entering its 75th season this year and "has attracted even more partners around the celebration that launched at Eagles Training Camp this week."

Mark Donovan, Eagles Senior Vice President of Business Operations, says that the growth of the Eagles brand goes to the fact that the team really reaches out to the fans.

Donovan said, "We are honored to be recognized by Forbes...the combination of an enormous number of uniquely passionate fans around the globe, the aggressive leadership of Jeffrey and Christina Lurie and Joe Banner, as well as our talented business operations staff, makes this kind of success possible. In addition, the brand campaigns, marketing programs and promotions are only as strong as our corporate partners support and for that we are truly grateful."
