Christina Aguilera is currently one of the best female pop artists in the popular music genre. She's not just gifted vocally, but her entertainment factor is gifted, as well as, her stage presence . I have always thought she was really good, by hearing different songs she would sing (Reflection, I Turn To You, Fighter, The Voice Within, i.e.) because she was was great with basic adaption and projection, but flexible in terms of taking on either an upbeat or ballad, but I have to be honest, when she first entered the music industry, I never really listened to her.

I was a bit skeptical, because as much as I thought "Genie In A Bottle" was a cute song, it was rather "cheesy" to me, at the time. I kind of thought she was a bit unoriginal, but as time proceeded, she has really grown as an artist. Someone who should be respected.

One of the most recent songs I discovered was called "Hurt" from her new album "Back To Basics". It's a very rich, pop, r&b soul, jazz ballad number that opened up Christina's soul. As if Christina was telling a story of her life in 4 minutes in this song. It possessed a lot of raw emotion, that you normally don't see (or hear) in popular music. I have always thought of Christina as being commercial, but this song proved she isn't commercial as she sells. That song definitely sold me.

Also, the jazz concept of the Back to Basics album is great, but what made the album even more interesting was Christina had a hand at writing every song on the album. (What I thought was even more interesting and I did NOT even know this was Linda Perry of the 4 Non Blondes is her producer. They were a great band, that I use to listen to when I was around 12-13. They had an awesome song called "What's Up".)

Christina has achieved great praise in the music industry for being talented. I think she is very much deserving of that praise. She definitely brings something a little unique to the industry. What is there, not to love about Christina Aguilera? One thing is certain, I like her.
