Review of Hilton Grand Vacation Club, on Miami's South Beach in Florida
Perfect Spot on One of the World's Most Sort After Beaches
The good thing is that the Hilton is on Ocean Drive but the bad thing is there is no onsite parking in the area. We parked on a meter across the road to check in. We had been informed that valet parking would be $18 a day but when we arrived it had gone up to $22. We valet parked the first night but after that found a parking garage just a block away for $8 a day.
The guy at reception took my credit card and put a $200 deposit on it that would be return when we left apart from any extra charges we may incur. He also told us that we would be paying $22.60 a day for maid service. I later phoned down to his supervisor and got that taken care of. No other timeshare charges a daily fee. She told me that he was new and we should have the fee just once. We were only staying 4 nights so I told them that I didn't need maid service for that short a period.
Our apartment wasn't in that building but next-door. We were on the second floor and used a credit card type key to get in.
The kitchen, dining area, and lounge area were very elegantly done in a very small area. We had a convection oven/microwave, a double ceramic cooker top, a full size fridge/freezer and lots of small appliances.
It was tastefully decorated in beige. There was a small dining table with 4 chairs, a beautiful chrome and black unit with a 26-in television, D.V.D. player on it. The sleeper sofa was beige, lamps, pictures and a mirror.
The bedroom was small and had a queen size bed, chest of drawers, and a really small television. There was also a closet with a safe in it.
The bathroom was divine and the nicest room of it. It had a 9-foot vanity but only one basin. However the design was lovely. There were plenty of cupboards and drawers and a beautiful mirror shaped like a butterfly. The shower was in the bathtub.
We also had free wireless Internet service.
None of the units faced the beach and all we got to see was the next hotel. On the 4th floor were a sundeck, fitness center, and hot tub. We were unlucky that they were being renovated so we didn't get to use them.
The enchanting outside of this Art Deco architecture.
