Dog washes were available with $10 donations going to Lucky Mutts Rescue Group which is very "pit bull friendly." Austin and San Antonio area members of the American Pit Bull Terrier Meet-up Group came out with their dogs to show what wonderful companions pit bulls are.

Pit bull terriers have suffered from a tarnished reputation as being violent-natured dogs, especially in light of the Michael Vick dog-fighting allegations. The dogs that came to the event Sunday showed the Pit Bull's true colors as loving, affectionate and very playful dogs. Other dog breeds came to cheer on the event, and when the breakfast tacos arrived, every dog was on its best behavior angling for some goodies.

Bark'N Bubbles (owners and staff members, Jessica Adams, Sandy Scardino, Amber Jeffcoat, and Kelly Brink) donated $3 from every dog wash through Saturday, August 3rd, to Lucky Mutts. You can also still donate directly at LuckyMutts.com. Also keep a look out on Bark'N Bubbles website for more events coming up. According to Sandy, there will be more events like this one. Bark'N Bubbles is a full service bathing (and pampering) service salon for dogs, as well as providing outstanding "self-serve" suites if you want to bathe your pup yourself. Everything a dog owner needs is in easy reach and the ramps make it so much easier than trying to bathe your dog at home.

Lucky Mutts Rescue Group works with local rescue coordinators all over town, including Town Lake Animal Shelter, to find homes for adoptable dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. Lucky Mutts is well-known locally for being pit bull terrier friendly, and has been a huge source of education about pit bulls.

KROX's MorningX producer (and amateur boxer) Deb, the "British Bulldog" O'Keefe, brought her own Pit Bull, the irresistibly charming "Blue" (pictured.) Blue spent a fair bit of time supervising the main table and making sure that everyone got their breakfast tacos in an orderly fashion. Meghan Turner and "May" greeted all the visitors and made everyone feel welcome.
