We have become too engrossed with work to impress our worth with superiors at the expense of quality time demanded by a growing family. Apart from that, we also tend to disregard the need to take good care of our health; to exercise and keep fit. We have become slaves to the demands of modern life to even bother attending to domestic chores. Work now pre-occupies our waking hours and even shortens our sleeping hours with endless overtimes that regular exercise becomes a luxury.

In the process of leading a hectic lifestyle, we are putting in more fat into our already bulging tummy. We once enjoyed donning pants with a size 32 waistline, now it has expanded to almost 42. Since we don't have the time for the upkeep of a fit body, we attempted to take commercial products to lose the unwanted flab. So far, no product in the market can provide an effective remedy to this particular problem that you need to experiment with different methods until such time you find one that really works for you. This not only becomes a tough choice but also a really expensive one.
What are the commercial treatments ?

A pill developed by Scientists in Sweden, conjugated linoleic acid or CLA has been proven effective in the reduction of fat particularly abdominal or belly fat. In a 2001 study, respondents taking 4 grams of this special type of fatty acid lost as much as 4% of body fat over a 12 week trial period. A similar study in 2004 reinforced findings that indeed the decrease in human body fat (belly fat) did not alter body mass index or trigger harmful side effects.

A further study made by the Creighton University Medical Center, indicated positive results for three clinical studies with minor side effects. A reduction of 4% body fat may not sound really encouraging, but Doctors at Laval Academy in Quebec found sufficient proof that even at such low volumes, the risks of diabetes and heart disease are reduced by around 60%.
