Learn to Juggle
In Only a Few Simple Steps
Embed:
One of the key factors in learning to juggle is patience. The whole process of improving the technique will take several hours and at certain stages you feel that you aren't getting anywhere. The important thing is to just keep going regardless and eventually you will notice improvements. Before you even start juggling it is important to get your posture right. Stand with your feet about a shoulder width apart and face directly forwards. Hold your hands in towards each other almost like a ballet dancer would. Holding your hands in this fashion helps you to throw the ball straight from one hand to another without it shooting forwards.
The first stage is very simple but it is important in order to get the basic idea of juggling. You first must take one juggling ball and hold it in your right hand. From this position simply throw the ball in an arc, getting it to peak at about the height of your eyes, so that it lands neatly in your left hand. Then reverse this, throwing the ball to the right hand. Repeat this for about 10 minutes so that you have a good feel of what it is like to throw a juggling ball and catch it so that you will not have to focus on these simple problems when you are dealing with more balls.
Once you are confident that you can throw and catch the single ball easily each time you can move on to two balls. It is commonly said that two balls are harder than three balls in juggling and once you can juggle two balls you should be able to move on to juggle three without too much more difficulty. The important factor in juggling two balls is with overriding your natural instinct. Naturally if someone asked you to juggle two balls you would throw the first ball from right to left and then pass the second one across to your right hand before catching the first ball. This is completely wrong and if you set off doing this you will make it impossible for yourself to juggle three balls. Instead you must throw the first ball from right to left exactly as you have been doing with one ball but instead of passing the second one throw that one too.
