Tutorial: Video Conversion with ERightSoft Super

22
This is a tutorial on how to convert your videos into different formats. This can be especially useful if you want to watch videos on you cell phone, iPod, Playstation 3, PSP Zune or everything else that only plays one format.

We will focus on one free video converting program that will do basically all the video converting you ever need. That program is eRightSoft Super; download the program at the following link:

Now let's begin!

Step One: Import the video
Either drag-and-drop the video you want to convert into eRightSoft Super or right-click anywhere on the program, select "Add Multimedia Files," locate your video and import (You can import as many videos as you want as eRightSoft Super can batch convert them).

Step Two: Select the Output Types
After importing your video, you need to choose the three output types: output container, output video codec and output audio codec. If you are not an expert, just select the output container and leave the output video codec and output audio codec alone since eRightSoft Super will select the default settings for them based on the output container you selected.

Depending on your output container selection, you may also have to select between four conversion tools: ffmpeg, MEncoder, ffmpeg2theora or producer. From my personal experience, I would suggest either ffmpeg or ffmpeg2theora.

Step Three: Audio and Video Settings
Next up is selecting the audio and video settings. For video, you can change the video scale size, aspect ratio, frames per second, bitrate and other options. For audio you can change the frequency, channels, bitrate and language track (if it is available).

You can mess around with the options (unfortunately, you can't preview the changes so you have to encode the video to find out the differences) but it's best to leave the audio and video settings to default if you are a beginner.

Step Four: Encoding the Video
Once you are done with all the options, eRightSoft Super will give you a brief summary on the Output window. When you are satisfied with the output settings, it's finally time to convert the video.
