I am not here to talk bad about this company which is called Direct USA foods. I am here to inform the public and let them form their own opinions about the company. Everything that I state here is my personal experience and could differ from area to area. Here are the problems that I have encountered with Direct USA. You can also look up this company and find more information about them at www.ripoffreport.com. I'm sure a lot of people have good things to say but I did not have a good experience with the company.

My boyfriend and I were standing outside getting ready for a rummage sale when two men in a small older truck pulled into our driveway with a freezer. They got out and started making small talk with us. We told them that we did not have the money to spend - $317 for a couple boxes of meat. The men stayed in our garage for an hour and a half until finally we decided that we would pay $317 alone just to get them out of our driveway! The entire time the men kept asking us if they could come inside, for some strange reason. We wrote the men out two seperate checks and took the steaks inside to thaw them out.

The first thing we tried to make was the fillets. After thawing out the fillets it looks liked a bloody mess all over the kitchen. I've never seen so much blood come out of a steak before. We cooked the steaks which shrunk up to the size of eggs. They were very tough and impossible to eat. Not because we burnt the steaks but because they were still bloody even after they were completely cooked. Next, we tried to cook up the bacon wrap fillets. The bacon on all of the steaks was completely fat but I didn't mind since I dont like bacon. The filets were also very fatty and very bloody. We cooked something else for dinner and tried to cook up the hamburger patties the next day. I let the burgers thaw out and tried to pack them. I squeezed them as much as I could to pack them and when we placed them on the grill they fell into the grill. The burgers were extremely greasy and watered down. Not to mention after about 1 week all the meat started to smell horribly of onions.

i just encountered the same company yesterday. direct usa they sold meat out of the truck freezer. well i have a different story to tell. i bought 3 cases of meat 2 beef and 1 chicken for the price of 420 dollars so far everything has been great no problem with the meat thawing no problem with the taste. so in my oppinion i got a great deal on a large amount of meat that will be eatin by everyone in my family. there is one problem though.....i don't have enough room in my freezer for all of it so i sold some to the neighbor

Thank you SO much for the information! The exact same thing happened to me... while standing in my driveway, two men in a truck (with the Direct USA logo & a freezer in the back) pulled over to the side of the road (blocking my driveway). The driver, Leroy, shouted to me and asked if I would be interested in buying some meat at a really great price. I took a look at what he was offering. Most of the meat was partially thawed, the "ribeyes" weren't marbled, as most are, but the sirloin was grossly marbled. I asked him to come back in about 20-30 minutes. He agreed. I took that time to research the company online. The BBB has them listed as "unsatisfactory" regarding resolution of complaints, and I also found your article. When he came back, I told him we weren't in the position to spend the money at this time or any time in the near future, as I am disabled and on a limited income. He rudely interrupted me, told me he would never bother me again and took off. Thank you f
