My wife and I just returned from out five week road trip, and before we left for the trip, we threw out or ate all of the food in the refrigerator. The next day after we returned, we realized that we did not have anything to eat for breakfast, so we decided to go down to our local 50s diner and grab breakfast. We walked into the restaurant and we were told to take a seat anywhere we like. We decided to sit in the red booth near the window that overlooks Route 66.

Tally's seems to be a very popular place just about every day of the week. Our waitress was moving from one side of the restaurant to the other, just trying to make her rounds. She greeted us at the table and we ordered our drinks. My wife ordered an apple juice and I got my usual water. One reason we knew that our waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off was the fact that she accidentally brought my wife an orange juice instead of apple juice, which was no problem for the Tally's waitress. In a flash she had the correct juice on the table and we were ready to order our breakfast.

My wife went all out with the Waffle Platter which consists of one HUGE waffle, the size of the plate, a side of breakfast sausage and two eggs. I opted for the Blueberry Pancakes. Before our food arrived at our table, the waitress must have had a chance to breathe because she brought us a container of syrup and some butter to spread over our awaiting meal. Once I food did get to the table, which did not take long at all, I skipped the butter and poured the syrup onto my Blueberry Pancakes. I thought for sure that I could eat the entire stack, which was only a short stack that contains just two pancakes. I was wrong. These pancakes were the most filling pancakes that I have had. The dough was very light, but it became more dense when I added the syrup and it had the best blueberries missed in. It was so good, but I could not even finish them! It might be because I took a bite of my wife's waffles and sausage.
