My Xbox 360 Failure: A Painful Journey of Repair
I bought an Xbox 360 in the summer of 2006. I also bought a copy of Dead Rising and went home to enjoy. For sixth months I enjoyed my Xbox 360. I had some weird errors though that foreshadowed my consoles demise. I would once in awhile receive a "Open Tray" message with the game inside the console. The Xbox 360 was not reading my games. After restarting it a few times it worked fine and I ignored the fact that something may have been wrong. The console ran near flawlessly despite some crashes and game freezes while I was playing Rainbow Six Vegas. However on June 15th 2007 my Xbox stopped reading all games when I purchased Guitar Hero 2 four days before my birthday. I was quite upset and tried many different things. I tried removing the hard drive, I tried my games in other consoles, I tried wiping my Xbox 360 cache, nothing worked.
