We all know what a success the first High School Musical was. You can tell every time you enter a Kmart. There are High School Musical bookbags, folders, lunchboxes, and bedding. While some movies are just a hit with kids, that is not true of High School Musical and it's coming sequel. This article will tell you a little bit more about High School Musical 2 and why parents are just as crazy about seeing it!

In this day and age it is getting harder and harder to find a descent television show or movie that you actually feel comfortable letting your children watch. That is why High School Musical 2 is such a breath of fresh air. My daughter and I didn't see the first movie until it was out on video at Blockbuster. When we sat down to watch it, I was amazed at how interested I was in the movie. It really captured my daughter's eyes as well as mine. There was just the right balance of musical numbers and acting scenes. All of the musical numbers were catchy and fun. Even more importantly the story line teaches kids it's okay to be whoever you want to be, no matter what anyone else thinks.

I believe this movie should be shown to children all over America on the first day of school. Let it's message sink in before the bullies start beating kids up for their lunch money, or picking on the smallest kid in the class because he likes to play chess. After all, movies have been proven to be influential (you here it on the news all them and it's usually related to violence). So why not use a movie to influence kids in a positive way. High School Musical did that and so will its sequel.

Takeaways
  • Fantastic songs, dances, and acting scenes.
  • Lessons parents can talk about after the show with their kids.
  • Watch for High School Musical 3 in theaters October 2008.

We sat there and watched it on 8/17 and at least three times since (that was only three days ago lol.) Our kids loved it and so did we. Agree with your article. It is great, clean fun for the kiddos and adults.

Angela, you really should watch it. I am kind of strict about what I let my kids see and I found this movie to be high quality and kid friendly.

I haven't gotten on the High School musical bandwagon, but I probably should. I've heard that it is a modern day Grease, which I should like seeing how Grease is one of my favorite movies.
